Katie Green is a popular speaker, workshop leader, and skilled facilitator.

Katie is available for speaking engagements and workshops:

Storytelling for Parents and Families; Storytelling and Literacy. Katie worked as a speech and language pathologies for 25 years. Her storytelling skills and her knowledge of language development are combined with classroom teaching and parenting experience for this talk.

Creating Family Stories. Katie leads participants through exercises that will joggle the memory and wake up experiences that had been forgotten. Half-day workshop will elicit stories; a full day will allow a story to be polished for sharing.

Colonialism and King Philip's War. Katie's popular one person show, Meet Mary Rowlandson, has led history buffs and schools to invite Katie to speak and share these interesting slides.

Egyptian Myths and History. Senior citizen groups and libraries enjoy this informative talk and beautiful power-point presentation of Egyptian art and architecture. Program can be adjusted for 4th grade and up.

Hans Christian Andersen, The Man, His Times, and His Stories. Garden clubs and botanical centers have enjoyed this workshop. Katie tells two of Andersen's tales that celebrate the natural world. Andersen's life and delightful floral arrangements are included in a slide show.

Creating Healing Stories. Given a folk-tale structure and a nurturing environment that encourages creativity, participants create a story that speaks to a personal concern. This half-day workshop is fun, entertaining, and empowering. It is not a substitute for professional therapy.

The R Word. If you are a white person who grew up in the U.S., you learned to accept racism, or at least not to question it too often or too loudly. This workshop looks our early experiences that shape our beliefs. The workshop is available to white people who are working to understand the roots of racism. Katie will include parts of the American Friends Service Committee's (AFSC) Bystander Training Program.

Introduction to Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP). Katie has been a non-violence trainer and a facilitator for AVP for many years. She designed and taught Creative Conflict Resolution in the Classroom, a 3-hour graduate course in Fitchburg State College's School of Education. This workshop is appropriate for adults and teens. Recommended group size: 12-20.
