Stories for World Change Network

Spinning Tales, Weaving Hope was a project of the Stories for World Change Network. This support and networking group of storytellers no longer meets formally, but members continue to promote community and share stories that reflect their search for positive world change.

Royalties from the sale of Spinning Tales, Weaving Hope are contributed to the following four organizations:

  • Amnesty International - a world -wide independent movement that works impartially for the release of all prisoners of conscience, promoting fair and prompt trials for political prisoners, and an end to torture and executions.   more info here

  • Creative Conflict Resolution with Children (CCRC) - founded in 1972 and affiliated with the Fellowship of Reconciliation. Located in Nyack, NY, CCRC provides workshops which teach children and educators conflict resolution skills, mediation, problem solving, and bias awareness.  (more info on FOR here)

  • The Children's Rainforest Project works with the Monteverde Conservation League in Costa Rica, to buy and protect rainforests in northern Costa Rica. The group carries out local education and reforestation projects. El Bosque Eterno de Los Ninos (The International Children's Rainforest) is a 42,000 acre area of remote tropical rainforest which is currently being purchased with funds raised by children and adults in Europe, Canada, Japan, and the U.S.

  • The Lion and the Lamb Peace Arts Center provides an opportunity for the study and promotion of peace and international understanding through the arts and literature of children. The Center is located at Bluffton College, Bluffton, Ohio.
